My name is Dr. Tammie Morales. I am the orginal founder and CEO of Kinder House Inc. (Kinder House Academy and KHA Merit Academy). I am the mother of four grown children (23, 30, 31, 35), and two step-children ages 12 and 13. I was previously a military wife for 27 years, and have seen our education system at its best and at its worst. I have taught at various locations throughout the United States.
I recieved my bachelors degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Maryland University College with a minor concentration in Learning Disorders. I hold a Master's degree in Education with a dual major in Curriculum and Instruction and Special Education from New Mexico State University, and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership with a minor concentration in Instructional Leadership from Northcentral University. I am licenced in Elementary, Secondary, and Special Education in the state of New Mexico. Additionally, I hold administrative licensure. I am highly qualified (by state definition) in the Language Arts, Social Studies, Reading and Psychology. I have taught at many grade levels PreK - 12. My most recent position has been teaching 6th/7th grade math, science and high school psychology in a rural district in New Mexico. In addition to teaching, I am a nationally certified educational consultant and teacher trainer.
I believe that it is imperative that children develop a love of learning in order to be successful in life. Going to school, in itself, does not accomplish this task. School must be accomplished in a manner which motivates children, in a positive way, to want to learn. Our program seeks to instill this love of learning through a balance of structured academics, hands on learning, character development, and self accountability that prepares the child for success later in life. I understand that students come into school from different backgrounds and cultures and with different cognitive abilities, assets and experiences. Sometimes the only thing students have in common is their age. A “one size fits all” approach to education does not work in today’s society.
